Cabin crew training

New Entrant Training

New entrant training includes both initial and company conversion training. Before undertaking company conversion training, each cabin crew member must have completed the initial training to get the EASA Cabin Crew Attestation. The initial training lasts nine days.

If you already have the EASA Cabin Crew Attestation, you can participate directly in the company conversion training.

During the company conversion training you´ll learn everything you need to provide excellent customer service: how to meet a customer, how to serve meals and drinks and what the values and service principles are for Finnair customer service. At the very end of the new entrant course you'll demonstrate what you have learned in a skills test.

The aircraft type specific course will train you to the Finnair fleet: Airbus A320, A330 and A350.

These trainings take eight weeks altogether and will certify you as a qualified flight attendant. Participation is required in all training events and lessons.

The new entrant training is very demanding; therefore it is important to focus on all training areas. We evaluate your success all the way during the course. Attitude is as important as knowledge and skills. During the course there will be the following types of tests:

  • Practical demonstration/hands-on tests
  • Computer-based tests
  • In-flight checks
  • Oral and written tests
  • Skills test

All tests and checks during the courses must be passed at least 80% correct.
