Technical training

Technical training at Finnair Flight Academy (FFA) is based on aircraft manufacturers' original maintenance documents, training manuals and our experience gained from many years. Our aircraft type courses A, C, B1, B2 and B1&B2 are EASA part 147 approved [link: Finnair Flight Academy Ltd. Approval.pdf]

After complete theory and suitable practical training aircraft maintenance license holder may request local CAA to add new aircraft type to the license. Theory and practical training can be arranged as separated courses or integrated together as a complete type course.

Courses can be adjusted to meet customer needs and may be approved by local CAA. Learning methods can be selectable by the customer. Methods may contain lectures, online learning or computer assisted blended learning.

Practical training can be performed with operational aircraft or suitable maintenance training simulators or combination of both.

Theory and practical training can be arranged as separated courses or integrated together as a complete type course.

Technical courses may contain one aircraft type, an aircraft family or only some specific system or equipment type. Power plant type courses are also available. Cross Maintenance Qualification (CMQ) is available for Airbus, Embraer and Boeing aircraft.

Our EASA Part 147 approval contains A, C, B1, B2 and B1/B2 type courses for several different aircraft types:

  • B1-course is for license holders whose work area is mainly at aircraft structure, power plant and aircraft systems.
  • B2-course is for license holders whose work area is aircraft electrical and electronics systems.
  • B1&B2-course covers whole aircraft deeply.
  • C-course is aimed for C-license holders whose main task is to release aircraft
from larger maintenance check. Whole aircraft is covered on familiarization level.
  • A-course gives basic knowledge of complete aircraft on familiarization level for A-mechanic. After suitable practical training A-mechanic might do predefined
    maintenance tasks independently.

Our course catalogue also contains several EASA Part 145 basic, advanced and continuation training courses, such as:

  • Human Factors in Aircraft Maintenance basic course
  • Instructional Techniques Course

Some of these Part 145 courses are provided as online courses.
