Commander training

Finnair Flight Academy provides Command Upgrade courses for experienced First Officers who meet the requirements for command on the same type of aircraft.

Candidates will learn the specific managerial skills related to commander's duties and the principles of Crew Resource Management (CRM).

Training program is developed in cooperation with the customer airline to meet the airline specific needs. Theoretical training on commander's role and responsibilities is provided initially, followed by practical training sessions in full flight simulator, where the candidate can learn the practices of effective cockpit management in normal and abnormal situations.
